I can still dredge up the times when I thought of having MALADAPTIVE DAYDREAMER as a blog title.
Self-proclaimed Daydreamer. Yaa. I just love it when you’re irked by tedium and you want some sort of relaxation while your mental faculties are still operational.A daydream is a visionary fantasy, usually fun with joyful thoughts, goals or fantasies, imagined as coming to pass that happens when your semi awake. There are many different types of daydreams that we experience. In the past daydreaming was considered a lazy hobby that people who lacked interest in life. Psychologists during the 1950′s warned parents and teachers to not let there kids daydream or else they would be trapped into some sort of Neurotic or Psychotic state of mind. Advanced studies today have shown that daydreaming can be more beneficial and, coincidentally enough, helps stimulate the mind. It is said that the average human daydreams close to 50% in ones walking life. (Googled!)
Daydreaming is said to be the key to open up hidden talents in us that we never thought possible.
How come? Thy Kingdom come. JK!
It’s like when you daydream you are actually unearthing your own abilities. The level of your imagination is … enhanced? (I don’t think I got the proper term here). From then you can now explore new heights that are not possible to the human existence. Yeah! What else… Uhmm… It somehow improves our language skills also. Because when we are daydreaming. Most of the time… we have our own silent monologues. And so we are developing language skills! More importantly some of the best ideas come from us daydreaming. Like going to Narnia… being a superhero… having sex? IDK.It depends with the kind of tastebuds you have. :D
If we have the positive facets of daydreaming… Ofcourse we always have the downside. And what is that?
We become oblivious. We space out important things that we loose vital informations in school, seminar, etc.
Daydreaming also… has been caused for blame such as burning your food on the stove.
We loose focus.
Daydreaming is essentially the same thing, with two noticeable differences: First, you will likely remember these ideas much more clearly, and second, you can control it more!
